The USC department of Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) – Sustainability & Energy Department is seeking a Utility Billing Data Analyst join its team.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
The Utility Billing Data Analyst gathers, analyzes, verifies, and reports energy and utility billing cost and consumption data.
The Utility Billing Data Analyst:
Assists with the analysis, design, documentation, testing and maintenance of databases and database servers.
Analyzes, assesses and modifies existing databases to conform to changes or to
make improvements in the existing databases.
Responsible for the calculation of campus monthly utility recharge rate and the generation of monthly campus utility recharge file.
Assists in researching, identifying, analyzing and fulfilling requirements of all
internal and external users.
Assists in maintaining database libraries, users’ manuals, and/or technical
documentations.
Duties related to this system will include verification of accurate and complete invoice generation, bill verification, and utility rate audit.
Assists users with procedural or minor technical problems.
Troubleshoot of data integrity issues to coordinate with energy team.
Stays informed of new developments and technologies.
Follows protocols and procedures to ensure database security.
Duties related to this system will include verification of accurate and complete invoice generation, bill verification, and utility rate audit.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for the position of Utility Billing Data Analyst meets the following criteria:
Bachelors degree.
2 years of experience.
General knowledge of utility billing, metering systems and/or environmental economics.
Understanding of utility billing and rate structure, how they impact utility cost, and energy efficiency metrics.
Experience in gathering, organizing, and presenting large data sets in an effective manner.
Ability to analyze and interpret written material and quantitative data to provide conclusions and make recommendation based on the data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the position of Utility Billing Data Analyst must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelors degree; however, combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
1 year of related experience.
General knowledge of database analysis, design and documentation tools.
