We have a team of over 40 with some working at the main studio in Los Angeles while many work remotely all across the US. As a Videographer for Hippo, you will be an integral part of our video production team, helping to create the best medical education available. You love all aspects of video production but are especially at home in the studio.
Responsibilities
Technical expertise – You’re a versatile “one-man band” who knows the right gear for multicam shoots, detailed how-to/demo videos, and parody skits. You’ll set up and run all the camera, lighting, grip/electric, and teleprompters as-needed. You’ll mic the talent and ensure clear audio capture. You’ll coach our clinical experts during filming and make shooting notes for our editors.
Creative direction – You have an eye for quality and the know-how to make your vision a reality. You’ll run creative for set design; innovate setups based on the subject matter and audience; and set frames, lighting, and camera angles to make our content look and sound excellent.
Innovation – You are a technical problem solver with a make-it-work attitude who is up to learn new tech and build new capture workflows when needed
Build strong relationships – You’ll be the onboarding point person and ongoing liaison for our guest medical faculty. You are an excellent communicator and can create a successful filming environment for anyone, regardless of experience or comfort level.
Qualifications
3+ years of videographer experience for educational, entertainment, or industrial media including working with nonactors/subject matter experts
Proficient as solo DP/Camera op
Basic lighting, grip, and electric
Experience capturing high-quality audio
Experience pitching video concepts, scriptwriting, and drafting shot lists
Set design and location scouting experience
A creative mind and a great sense of humor
A desire to dive deep into the world of medicine and create amazing content to help clinicians learn, grow, and thrive
Details:
Location: On-site in Los Angeles, CA (Woodland Hills) with flexible remote-work days
Reports to: Video Producer
Salary: $80,000 – $85,000
