We may use the hiring list created by this recruitment to fill future full time, part time and limited duration Youth Librarian vacancies should they become available.

You demonstrate respect for diversity and inclusion of cultural values, and continually develop cultural responsiveness and work to address implicit bias in order to provide inclusive service to our community.
You draw on your deep expertise in youth literature, research and other areas to assess the needs of your patrons while you plan, prepare and implement programs (including storytimes) and outreach to youth and families. You know how important it is to connect with our patrons, so outreach will be an important part of your duties. You work closely with your branch administrator and fellow branch staff, as well as the Youth Services team, to ensure the library is a welcoming space for all of the community we serve.
Your focus will be on the Hollywood library but you also support your designated library region as a whole. You work closely with your regional staff colleagues and you are a liaison between the local branch, regional, and systemwide Youth Services teams.
You are responsible for connecting patrons (internal and external) with the information and services they seek, building and maintaining professional relationships with patrons and community partners, and delivering a variety of professional-level library services. In particular, the Youth Librarian assists all patrons, with a focus on serving youth (from birth to age 18), families and those who work with youth.
