Job Description : POSITION INFORMATIONJob Title: Kitchen AssociateReports To: Kitchen SupervisorDivision: Grow + ProcessingClassification: Non- ExemptDepartment: ProcessingStatus: Full-TimeSTANDARDSIn the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the standards of conduct and performance as outlined in the Employee Handbook.PURPOSEThe Kitchen Associate will weigh, label, and package edibles and concentrates produced at the facility. The Kitchen Associate will also ensure quality control by strictly following company SOPs. The Kitchen Associate is responsible for cleaning and facility upkeep while adhering to all company policy and industry regulations.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYDirect Reports: NoneESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESDutiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Perform production work by following company SOPsMeasure ingredients and products accurately so that optimal levels of production are metWeigh and store finished products ensuring that all pertinent information is recorded in logsWeigh, label, package, and log product for accurate inventory controlLoad and unload designated equipmentProperly use and maintain designated equipmentProcess finished product to desired standardsKeep work area clean and organized at all timesTransport packaged product to designated storage areaClean and wash all dishes and equipment after useResponsible for kitchen sanitation and cleanlinessMaintain current knowledge of and adhere to all applicable state and local policies and regulationsFoster a workplace that upholds Holistic Industries’ aim to be the Best Place to Work, Shop and Invest in CannabisOther duties as assigned, or any reasonable request from any member of managementQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.GeneralRegulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain state marijuana work credentials.Education/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferredPrevious marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in licensed facilitiesExperience in food manufacturing operations strongly preferredRequired Knowledge and Skills:Understanding of and adherence to FDA regulationsUnderstanding of adherence to OSHA guidelines for workplace safety and hazardous chemicalsAbility to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime as necessaryAbility to use standard office equipmentBasic computer skillsDetail oriented and ability to communicate effectivelyServSafe CertificationAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires, and remain calm under pressureStrong work ethic and sound judgmentENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. CO2 can displace oxygen at high concentrations. CO2 exposure can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, rapid breathing, and increased heart rate; in extreme cases, unconsciousness and death can result.The warehouse is properly ventilated, however, marijuana cultivation produces ozone from the chemical reaction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, such as terpenes that are given off from the marijuana plant. Terpenes and nitric oxides can be associated with eye, skin and mucous irritation. In some people, ozone can cause decreased lung function and/or exacerbate pre-existing health effects, especially in workers with asthma or other respiratory complications.
