We areLeaders in the field of poverty alleviation.Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Housing Advocate position provides individualized in-home case management services to clients for purposes of clients’ self-sufficiency, and accessing and maintaining housing. A function of this role is compassionately and professionally performing screening, intake, and assessment with potential clients to establish eligibility for program participation. Referring clients to community partner agencies/service providers and providing advocacy for housing opportunities is an essential element of success in this role. The Housing Advocate is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, up-to-date client files and HMIS records. This position works under the direction of the Housing Advocate Coordinator.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Covid-19 Vaccine RequiredAA/AS in Social Services, BA/BS preferred, in Human Services, or related field required, plus two years’ experience (i.e. employment, internships, and long-term volunteer position) in the field preferredIn lieu of education, 3 years direct experience in case management or related services may be usedPassion for helping others and a desire to work in an organization that serves people who are experiencing poverty and houselessness requiredAbility to travel throughout the tri-county area regularly, even in inclement weather, using personal vehicleEnglish/Spanish bilingual preferredPrior to date of hire and throughout employment:Valid driver’s license.Proof of current auto insurance.Access to reliable transportation required.Satisfactory criminal background check requiredJob Type: Full-timePay: $19.50 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
