Located in Canby, Oregon, our facility is an easy commute, just 7 miles south of Oregon City, and 12 miles north of Woodburn. In business for over 20 years, Shimadzu is a stable company with a great crew and work environment.Position SummaryWe currently have an excellent opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator to help us meet our growing production needs on SWING Shift (1:00pm-9:30pm). In this role, you will fabricate high precision metal parts primarily using complex multi-axis, multi-tooled lathe/turning centers.Essential Responsibilities· Operate CNC Citizen Swiss-type and Mori Seiki NL series lathes (primary)· Operate Mori Seiki milling machines (secondary)· Manufacture high precision parts within specified tolerances (.0005 in / .012 mm)· Set tool length and radius offsets· Perform functional and quality tests on manufactured parts· Inspect parts using precise measuring tools to ensure conformance to quality standards· Perform basic maintenance on shop equipment· Maintain a clean and orderly work area following prescribed safety standardsRequirements·Experience operating CNC machines – lathes required·Experience working with metals – required· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent – required· Ability to communicate effectively and speak, read and write English· Ability to interpret specific instructions, diagrams and blueprints· Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail· Basic understanding of CNC machining programs, to include G and M coding· Dependability and strong work ethicREQUIRED: Background Check and Drug Screen (for use of illegal drugs)We are committed to the principle of equal opportunity employment for all candidates and employees, and to providing a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
