Job Description : Purpose or General Objective: Lead, manage and facilitate community partner recruitment, retention and engagement in support of the development and successful implementation of Battle Creek Central High School Career Academies.Essential Duties: Recruit and retain community business partners and coordinate the delivery of career pathway-aligned experiences to Battle Creek Central High School (BCCHS) students such as Career Exploration Fair, guest speakers, career panels, industry tours, job shadowing , guest speakers, mock interviews, project-based learning, internships, and more.Serve as the communication liaison between the wider Battle Creek community and BCCHS Career Academies.Work collaboratively with the Convening Organization (Goodwill), the Battle Creek Central High School Career Coach, and others within Battle Creek Public Schools to ensure effective community engagement in BCCHS Career Academies.Support the BCCHS Career Coach as needed in the implementation of BCCHS Career Academies student experiences.Manage and facilitate all meetings and events with BCCHS Career Academies community partners, referral sources, students, and parents/guardians as appropriate.Support the BCCHS Career Academies Council; attend meetings, co-develop all agendas with the council co-chairs and vice chair, support meeting facilitation, manage logistics and activities identified by the council, disseminates notes and action items to council members, and support Council member recruitment.Support the BCCHS Career Academies Advisory Boards; Serve as a member of each advisory board, recruit and secure community partners to serve as advisory board members, support BCCHS Career Coach in managing logistics and activities identified by the advisory board.Manage and facilitate the work of Tactical teams composed of representatives of Battle Creek Public Schools, employers, government agencies, college and universities, and non-profit community based-organizationsAssist BCCHS Career Academies partners in identifying and removing barriers to education and employment.Use coaching and motivational interviewing techniques to ensure BCCHS Career Academies participants are creating and setting their own goals.Collect, maintain, and synthesize and report BCCHS Career Academies partner engagement and program data.Conduct annual partnership reviews with BCCHS Career Academies community partners and provide BCPS with resulting data and recommendations.Represent Goodwill and Battle Creek Central High School Career Academies in a professional and dignified manner.Expected Results: Develop a network of area businesses that understand how Goodwill can benefit their organization and provide work experiences for GICMH participants.Maintain regularly scheduled council and tactical team meetings.Community businesses, organizations, and civic groups are engaged in the process and support the BCCHS Career Academies work by serving on the BCCHS Career Academies Council and Advisory Boards, hosting tours, job shadowing and work experience opportunities and/or providing staff to support the on-campus work of Battle Creek Public Schools.Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required – experience may be substituted for education on a case by case basis.Two years of work experience in educational or community engagement related fields required.Experience with Microsoft and Google Workspace products .Excellent communication skills.Ability to produce highly accurate work.A valid Michigan’s driver’s license with a driving record in compliance with Goodwill of Central Michigan’s Heartland, Inc. insurance carrier requirements. Applicant must have reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage.Additional Requirements : Professional appearance and attitude.Work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision individually and on teams.Perform other duties as assigned.Location: 15 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
