SUMMARY
Adrian Public Schools is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate to serve as principal of Springbrook Middle School. Adrian Public Schools is a K-12 district of approximately 2,750 students located south of Ann Arbor and northwest of Toledo. Springbrook Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 and is a unique learning community that prides itself on being a leader in Academics, Arts, and Athletics. A strong focus on the implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs has taken place and all students in grades 6-8 participate in the Project Lead the Way Program (PLTW). Springbrook Middle School offers accelerated courses for motivated learners and intervention classes for students needing additional support.
The principal facilitates this learning community to continually expand a healthy, safe and inclusive school community. The principal also focuses on growth for all students (6-8) and staff while implementing new and engaging learning practices. Springbrook Middle School has expanded opportunities for students in recent years to better prepare students for college, career, and post-secondary educational options.
The building operates under Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) a school-wide discipline program, and an aligned and rigorous curriculum. Springbrook Middle School has a balance between full inclusion of students and students with special needs receiving support in a resource room setting. 16% percent of the middle school population receives special education services. Almost 3% of the population are English Language Learners and 100% of the student population receives free breakfast and lunch through a grant. An Intermediate School District Moderate Cognitively Impaired regional classroom is housed within the building. Springbrook Middle School has a full offering of Interscholastic Athletic Opportunities and a Middle School Fine Arts Program second to none.
The principal is responsible for instructional and administrative leadership in the school and for all day to day school operations. The principal also provides oversight during all school functions and after school activities. The principal serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Leadership and Management Team and shares in responsibly implementing the district mission and vision.
