JOB SUMMARY
As SEEL’s Content Specialist, you will help drive our business-critical external communications as a valued part of the company’s Strategy team. The Content Specialist is responsible for assisting in creating diverse forms of content to enhance SEEL’s competitive industry positioning, expand its customer base nationally, and digitally articulate business strategy. The Content Specialist will support the design and development of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Pilot Programs & Projects, and numerous other client requests. The Content Specialist will create customer response materials, boilerplate content, articles, and presentations. The person in this role should be interested in producing dynamic content and assessing and optimizing its value and return on investment. To gather critical information, this team member will interface with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs), including sales, finance, legal, and business development contacts. The position will entail research into industry trends, utility reports and plans, and energy industry programs to expand renewable energy and minimize fossil fuel use. The Content Specialist reports to SEEL’s Director of Strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in creating, designing, and deploying strategic and engaging content.
Research and source content for the company’s marketing platforms.
Target specific keywords for all materials written and published to enhance SEO.
Monitor industry online activities.
Update and repurpose existing content to meet platform requirements and ensure accuracy.
Identify, analyze, and assist in the management of RFPs and RFIs, including opportunity assessment (go/no go), writing, editing, SME communications and meetings, fatal flaw review, document compilation, and checklist verification.
Responsible for proposal content formatting, editing, and visual quality check of all graphic components of the proposal documents within the relevant software platforms.
Create documents and presentations to satisfy internal and external client requests.
Support SEEL’s corporate and program marketing efforts by proofreading and editing all materials for grammar, spelling, comprehension, and style to ensure consistency of voice and expected level of professionalism.
Develop standard proposal-ready (boilerplate) content for use in future proposals as well as refine and compile information from existing boilerplate and technical documents
Responsible for thoroughly understanding the depth of SEEL products and services to represent fully and effectively SEEL to our clients or potential clients during intense and highly competitive bid processes.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents created by the department to ensure compliance with internal standard operating procedures and document and data security policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Journalism, English, Planning, Information or Data Science, Communications, Business, Environmental Science, or similar fields
Highly polished written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated high-level of proficiency in managing the production of diverse deliverables, such as proposals, presentations, spreadsheets, articles, white papers, social media posts, Microsoft Project work plans, Visio diagrams, graphics, and reports
Capacity to understand and evaluate messaging for effectiveness
Innovative and creative with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple ongoing projects to time-bound completion and prescribed accuracy
Strong attention to detail, effective time management, analytical, and general business skills
Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and flexibility amid changing priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio)
Ability to work well independently and be self‐directed
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse subject matter experts to accomplish shared goals and move new initiatives forward
Comfort with startup/early second stage organizational culture including evolving policies and procedures and desire to join the collective “all hands on deck” when required
Preferred:
3+ years of progressive experience working in a similar capacity
Experience working with cloud-based digital project or proposal management tools
Commercial proposal writing/business development experience in a fast-paced, dynamic corporate environment
Passion for and knowledge of national, regional, and local clean energy and climate resiliency initiatives
