Job Description : In partnership with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is an ambassador and advocate for the mission of SafeHouse Center. The Executive Director is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission through relevant programs, strategic planning and community outreach, as well as meeting financial objectives and oversight of the operations of the organization.Reports to: Board of DirectorsDirect Supervisory Responsibilities: Finance Director, Director of Programs/Operations, Development Director, and Administrative Coordinator/Office Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Program Development: Collaborate with Board and staff to create shared vision and strategiesProvide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the BoardEnsure that programs are aligned with overall SafeHouse Center strategies as approved by the BoardMaintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in domestic violence, sexual assault and advocacyBuild upon a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion for survivors and staffFundraising and Community Partnerships: Oversee the case for support, and drive significant growth in fundraising successSupport the management of funding relationships with donors; including making direct asksEnsure identification and execution of successful approach to grant applicationsBuild upon relationships and collaborate with partners and other community agencies to leverage the mission and adapt proactively to changes in policies and standardsExceptional relationship management with funders, partners and stakeholdersInternal and External Communications: Represent the organization in various community forums and governing bodies to advocate not only for SafeHouse Center, but for survivors and the community as a wholeCommunicate with the Board to ensure they are fully informed on all activities and matters of importance to the missionReport metrics against goals, with input from Board Members and Committees; alert Board Members to concerns about financial and other impactsOversee the publication of activities, programs and goals, including representing the programs and point of view of the organization to agencies, clients, community groups and the general publicEstablish sound working relationships with outside entitiesApprove all relevant collateral and communication vehicles (Annual Report, website, social media)Team Relations/Supervision: Build a high-performing, mission-driven team. Responsible for the recruitment, coaching, and performance management of team membersEnsure that responsibilities are clearly documented, regular evaluations are held, and sound personnel management practices are in placeMaintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of engaged professionalsFinance and Business Plans: Manage a diversified business plan, including grants, private giving and government allocationsOversight of development and maintenance of sound financial practices, including oversight of annual financial auditPartner with the staff and the Board in preparing a budget; see that the organization operates within budget guidelines and the proper accounting practices are followedEnsure that program and operational expenditures are properly balanced with fundraising/revenueEnsure largest expenses are bid out every other year to ensure valueOversee agreement with the County regarding building operations and facilities related needsThe Qualified CandidateSafeHouse Center seeks a collaboratively focused, proven executive. The successful candidate will have proven leadership experience and prior success in collaborating with internal and external constituents to drive strategy for mission alignment. The selected candidate will be goal oriented, a change agent, and a strategic thinker.Specific requirements include: Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityFive or more years of progressively responsible experience at a senior level with a proven track record in building relationships with community partners and agency stakeholdersExperience working or volunteering in a nonprofit, governmental or public sector setting with proven experience in responding to shifting funder and regulatory requirementsExperience working with a volunteer boardLeadership experience and acumen, with prior success in leading teams through crises and challengesCompetencies and AttributesExceptional communication skills, as demonstrated by the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and maintain highly productive working relationshipsAbility to exercise a high degree of judgment and diplomacy as well as maintaining the highest integrity and ethicsStrong interpersonal skills and comfort with philanthropic community and major donorsSolid, persuasive verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to deliver inspiring and succinct presentations and conduct productive meetingsDemonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, a proven record of working collaboratively and diplomatically with othersDemonstrated ability and commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive team, creating a culture of trust and effectively manage, motivate, and mentor staffDemonstrated ability to think strategicallyDemonstrated ability to manage and lead change in a productive and effective mannerHigh levels of emotional intelligenceStrong business acumen; decision-making skills; ability to set priorities; process and project management skillsValid driver’s license and vehicleDesired/Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Social Work or a related fieldA passion for working with women’s issues and/or DVSA survivorsJob Type: Full-timePay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Day shiftHolidaysMonday to FridayNight shiftWeekend availabilityApplication Question(s):What is your desired salary range?Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Senior Management: 5 years (Required)Work Location: One location
