Job Description : Job Responsibilities
Kent County is seeking a Welcome Plan Coordinator to serve as a point of contact for a collaborative group of County partners in implementing the Grand Rapids/Kent County Welcome Plan. The successful candidate will have the rewarding experience of being part of a forward-thinking community initiative to create a welcoming and inclusive Kent County for all. The successful individual will provide day-to-day coordination and leadership for implementation and execution of the Welcome Plan. The Welcome Plan Coordinator will act as liaison with Kent County leadership, Welcome Plan Steering Committee members and other community partners. The Coordinator prepares and presents reports, develops funding recommendations, coordinates and schedules meeting agendas, generates and maintains communication material, and other responsibilities related to the successful administration of the Welcome Plan.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, completing Plan recommendations, working with partners to complete required tasks, monitoring progress, providing updates and preparing meeting materials. They will serve as the point of contact for organizations and individuals participating on the Welcome Plan Steering Committee and the Welcome Plan Collaborative.

Duties will include coordinating meetings, providing written updates, agendas, minutes and presentations. They will identify annual priorities, develop strategy for implementation that includes goals, objectives, budget development, funding sources, and other related aspects to measure service outcomes. They will develop and edit marketing and communication materials, including social media posts, press releases, and website content.

This individual will have frequent contact with the Kent County Chief Inclusion Officer, County Administration, representatives from government, nonprofit and business sectors, human and community service agencies, education, law enforcement agencies, as well as immigrant and refugee residents of Kent County.

We offer a hybrid work option where the employee will work both in the office and remotely.

This position will work approximately 28 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Political Science, Public/Nonprofit Administration, Social Work or a related field, combined with a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement or project management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Grant writing and strategic planning experience preferred.
