Salary: $30-$45/hr
Position Details
GPS Solutions is seeking to hire Intervention Teachers to provide services to multiple schools in the Detroit area. Both certified and non-certified teachers are encouraged to apply!

Certified Teachers
Hours: 15-40 hours per week, based on preference
Pay: $35-$45 per hour, based on experience
Non-Certified Teachers
Hours: 15-25 hours per week, based on preference
Pay: $30-$35 per hour, based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide research-based intervention instruction, that is consistent with the identified needs area, and addresses the unique ability levels and growth of each student.
Teach Title I subjects (reading and mathematics, integrated with social studies and science) to eligible students on the intervention caseload.
Deliver modified instruction and facilitate student activities, including development of lesson plans and classroom materials.
Document student entry level of performance and periodically assess progress toward mastery of Title I target areas.
Create a positive learning environment that addresses the multiple learning styles and modalities of the students
Relate well with an urban population and be able to lead, instruct and motivate urban students to learn.
Prepare and maintain accurate student attendance and group progress records, all required Title I compliance documentation and progress reports and submit for review by established deadlines.
Attend school activities outside regular school hours such as Parent/Teacher conferences, orientation, etc., as directed by the Intervention Coordinator.
Actively participate in professional development (PD) days scheduled by GPS and attend scheduled GPS staff meetings.
Respond to school-related phone calls within twenty-four hours of the time the call was made.
Check emails at least three times every school day (i.e. before school, lunchtime, after school).
Attend Parent Involvement Nights as directed by the Intervention Coordinator.
Communicate both positive and negative behaviors and classroom achievement to parents/guardians of students
Communicate student progress to general education teachers, students, and administrators on a consistent and regular basis. Collaborate with general education teachers to develop Student Intervention Plans based on assessment data.
