All roles are 100% remote currently, but we plan to go back into our Portland offices part time after COVID. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience coding in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Candidates should be experienced using the latest version of React (hooks) and SCSS and be a disciplined and organized coder. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable in Linux-based environments, be an independent but communicative team player, and thrive in researching creative ways to solve unusual technical challenges. Additionally, this candidate would thrive in a collaborative environment with team players, be comfortable taking initiative to produce results, collaborate effectively with a talented team, and have the ability to suggest and carry out practical actions to deal with issues.Duties & QualificationsResponsibilities for the Front End Developer include but are not be limited to:Research technical requirements involved in creating new features and identifying challengesDevelop efficient plans for remediating problems found in our flagship productPresent action plans to team members and management to get buy-in before beginning workCollaborate with the Front End team to build elegant and functional features and components in our flagship productParticipate in PR/Code reviewsWork with Back End engineers and other staff to design interfaces and help define APIs necessary for the front end applicationCollaborate with our Back End engineers and provide them stable, well written codeCorrectly identify problematic or poorly performing components in our flagship productCreatively problem-solve, research and analyze new ways to improve our flagship productWork with JavaScript (React), JSX, SCSS, and other technologies to address feature requests and identified defectsCommunicate effectively with team members and management to be able to deliver the end productKeep up to date with our ticketing system and provide reliable time estimates for competition of ticketsPersonal SkillsCommunicate clearly, professionally, and effectively in person, on the phone, and in writingHandle multiple demands in an interrupt-driven environment and be able to track their own work and not lose track of important details or tasksAbility to solve problems creatively and effectivelyTechnical SkillsSolid understanding of JavaScriptSeveral years of experience working with React Hooks and component-based functional coding practicesAbility to write concise, reusable, consistent codeAbility to write components/features from scratch in React while relying on third-party libraries as little as possibleExperience with SCSSExperience with popular CI/CD tools, AWS, Azure, and/or other cloud environmentsAbility to work comfortably in a linux-based development environmentDon’t qualify fully?
