POSITION TYPE: Full Time- Seasonal
POSITION SUMMARY:
Bike Rental shop staff are responsible for greeting Members and guests, sizing and outfitting Members on mountain bikes, providing directions to bike trails and trail conditions, collecting waivers, and cleaning and checking bikes back in on return. Safety and fun within a unique outdoor attending to and experience are the ultimate goals of the Moonlight Outfitters.
JOB DUTIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each job function satisfactorily, which includes:
Meet and greet members and guests, assist with member check-in and equipment use and waivers by using appropriate online systems/ software.
Assess member/guest ability, fit them with the appropriate size and style of mountain bike.
Fill out all rental forms thoroughly with equipment rented, time out and time returned.
Help maintain a fleet of Mountain Bikes and E-bikes, helmets, and the condition of the bike shop.
Report bike repair needs to the bike mechanic or supervisor, record maintenance needs and flag bikes that need repairs.
Report to morning meetings on time with a professional attitude and appearance.
Check member credentials and inform area rental guests that they may not use club amenities.
Assist in explaining trail maps and trail options in the Moonlight area.
Ride bikes to check for function and learn all Moonlight area trails when assigned.
Communicate all concerns, questions, and scheduling issues with Director/Supervisor.
Carry charged cell phone and radio when leaving the shop for approved rides, breaks and trail checks.
Participate in all required training.
Read and understand all safety policies and guidelines. Ask supervisor/ director for clarification on any policy you may not understand.
Attend all safety training meetings and clinics. Maintain current knowledge of all safety procedures.
All Moonlight Outfitter employees must always represent their department in a professional manner to members, guests, coworkers, and other departments.
Assist in special events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with customer service.
Bike tuning experience preferred.
Mountain biking proficiency preferred.
Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Ability to work in slow and fast paced conditions.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Resourcefulness, good judgement, self confidence
High School diploma and/or equivalent education.
Valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, hike, bike, for six to ten hours a day as required.
Ability to use various tools and equipment as required.
Work inside and outside throughout the day as required.
Bend at the waist, twist upper body, kneel, crawl, climb, reach above shoulders, flex and extend ankle, knee, and hip joints.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push and pull 10-20 lbs.
