About this Position:
This position is within the Repossession department and responsibilities include:
NOTE: This position will work from home. At a future date, occasional planned travel to an office location may be required or, if local to one of our offices, an office work location may be assigned
Lead a team of 6-8 Repossession Contractor Coordinators
Coach, mentor, motivate and communicate
Identify process improvement opportunities and provide feedback to leadership on possible solutions to address the identified opportunities
Oversee the Company’s relationship with Repossession Contractors to ensure they are performing in accordance with contractual expectations and representing Credit Acceptance professionally, compliantly and cost-effectively
Ensure that repossession costs remain in line with expectations by monitoring reporting and effectively negotiating rates with Repossession Contractors
Assist team members with escalated calls regarding repossessions
Outcomes and Activities:
Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance by monitoring calls, conducting audits, and reviewing daily reporting to identify trends and opportunities
Coach team members on effective negotiation and Repossession Contractor management techniques
Maintain a nationwide network of Repossession Contractors to service accounts who understand and are capable of complying with consumer protection laws
Meet or exceed our performance expectations by:
Setting clear expectations;
Reviewing relevant reports and identifying trends and opportunities;
Timely addressing trends and concerns raised by customer complaints;
Reviewing Repossession Contractor due diligence; and
At least once per quarter, performing site inspections of 3-5 Repossession Contractors in the network
Serve as the point of contact for Repossession Contractor relationships (Communication Portal(s), Background Checks and Site Inspections)
Execute administrative tasks as needed within the role
Position Knowledge and Skills:
Communication: Strong written and verbal communicator; solicit feedback; build trust and credibility; support change
Ownership: Own performance, receptive to feedback; apply feedback to improve; active participant in training and coaching sessions
Assessment: Assess Repossession Contractor and team member performance and fit; assess processes and policies; identify barriers; recommend and implement solutions
Coach: Set expectations; continuously coach team members and Repossession Contractors; facilitate learning and development; leverage best practices; build a high performing team
Honest: Ethical; best interest of organization; fair; consistent; integrity; comply with our policies and procedures
Requirements:
At least 2 years of previous leadership experience or 6 months of experience as a Repossession Contractor Coordinator and 1 year of previous leadership experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
10-20% travel
Preferred:
Experience in negotiating with service providers and customers
Knowledge of industry repossession practices and procedures
Knowledge of the Company’s policies and procedures relating to repossession
Experience in the finance or automotive industry
Schedule: Monday through Friday; flexible 8-hourf shift
Targeted Compensation: $67,000 plus annual bonus
