Job Description : The Assistant General Counsel provides legal advice and counsel to the organization in support of its business activities and operations.
Position Summary:
The Assistant General Counsel provides legal advice and counsel to the organization in support of its business activities and operations. The Assistant General Counsel provides and coordinates legal services to the organization on a range of matters impacting its operations, including human resources, research compliance, tax-exempt financing, governance, contracts, strategic policy, regulatory compliance, and general corporate matters.
Additionally, the Assistant General Counsel: researches and interprets existing laws and regulations and anticipated changes to laws to guide informed decisions and reduce risk; prepares and reviews various agreements; and coordinates with outside counsel to address issues requiring specialized legal knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate/law degree from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the State of Montana (or, if not currently licensed , an application to be admitted to the Montana bar upon hire is submitted and in progress)
Two to three years’ legal experience, preferably in health care
Essential Job Functions:
Advises on legal review of corporate documents and communications.
Conducts legal research as needed and synthesizes, communicates and memorializes institutional knowledge related to legal concepts for general business use.
Participates in and offers counsel in the oversight of corporate policy creation, updates and approvals.
Prepares and reviews various agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents.
Assists with claims management and the organization’s enterprise risk management program.
Collaborates with other members of the legal and risk management departments, as well as stakeholders throughout the organization.

Standard office equipment and computer applications; MS Office, internet applications etc.
Ability to work varied shifts
