JOB OVERVIEW – Under the direction of the Contract Manager the incumbent manages contract and procurement operations for the department, this position assists in developing Requests For Proposals, Invitation For Bid, procurement request, fleet management, contract management, and contract liaison activities. This position represents the bureau and the department with other agencies and the public.
Performs contract coordination duties assigned by the Contract Manager and Bureau Chief including researching contract terms, tracking termination dates, ensuring contract renewals are in place by or before the expiration date, overseeing procurement of complex acquisition utilizing RFPs, IFB, and limited solicitations, tracking vendor compliance with contract terms, writing new contracts and contract amendments, routing contract documents, requesting contract/insurance documents from vendors, entering information into the Contract Bureau’s contract management system, post updated contracts to Corrections website and remove expired contracts, responding to requests for information regarding the procurement and contracting process and identifying Federal and State rules and regulations, State procurement statutes, rules and policies and to ensure department compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Communication or a closely related field and two years’ work experience in technical writing, contract administration, research and project management. Three (3) years of related work experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Student Loan Forgiveness: This position qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness on student loans after 120 qualifying payments have been made.
