Position : Grower Customer Service Specialist

Job Description : Summary/Objective
The Grower Customer Service Specialist provides support to Grower Services Staff and Barenbrug Growers. The individuals in this position may be asked to focus on certain areas of the position on a day-to-day basis, however, will be expected to cross-train on all functions to provide support to other Customer Service staff. Individuals in this position may perform only portions of the essential functions based upon location of the position.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Receives invoices and enters data about external cleaning and coating from invoices into the company’s ERP software.

2. Runs reports from ERP software and exports to Excel or other formats.

3. Maintains the general ledger for accounting as well as the weekly cost analysis maintenance for the company.

4. Provide backup to formalize and complete grower contracts.

5. Processes grower payments according to cash flow requirements.

6. Processes payments to vendors.

7. Maintains division contracts including processing any updates and distribution of updates to vendors/growers.

8. Processes receiving tickets and inventory receipts.

9. Oversees purchase confirmations for the division and processes and distributes a weekly report showing these confirmations.

10. Enters test pricing and position and buyer entries into the ERP system.

11. Oversees A/R and A/P transfers for the division.

12. Assists in facilitating production schedule.

13. Creates and enters PO and BOL’s as needed.

14. Creates new varieties in ERP as directed.

15. Assists growers with questions about payments.

16. May act as receptionist for certain locations and answer phones, run the scales, receive trucks, etc.

17. Processing of WSDA Tags.

18. May act as lead for timecard management of location employees.

19. Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Understanding of accounting practices and procedures.

2. Excellent communication skills including active listening.

3. Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.

4. Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.

5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

6. Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.

7. Ability to work independently.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED
3 years’ experience in an accounting function AND
2 years’ experience in a sales or customer service role OR
Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in the seed industry

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are based upon position and company need.

Travel

Little or no travel is expected for this position.
