We are currently seeking a collaborative, results oriented professional to join our Import team as an Import Specialist. This is a REMOTE position. At TLR we believe in doing anything to become the most loved and trusted provider of international services and finding team members that will help foster that vision is paramount to our success.
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Data entry and invoice annotation for import customs entry for all modes of transport.
Work in a team environment using CargoWise dashboards to sort workflow.
Work all aspects of the transaction from ISF, entry transmission, dispatch, monitoring availability to billing.
Self-audit the customs entry and PGA data using checklists.
Develop in-depth knowledge of client specific needs, policies, and procedures.
Work in partnership with our clients’ many business partners.
Monitor account issues and communicate openly with Management.
Promoting a positive relationship with TLR’s clients, other team members, and vendors by ensuring accurate, timely and proactive customer service.
Nurturing the TLR-Client relationship by educating and assisting to define their needs.
Engaging in proactive cross-training to ensure seamless customer service on all accounts in the department.
Targeting and implementing process improvements including updating client profiles, S.O.P.’s and other department resources.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Air and Ocean Import customs brokerage experience required.
Experience handling the following commodities: ITAR related (ammo, firearms, accessories, tactical equipment, etc.)
Experience handling the following is a plus: ATF form 6, 6A, FFL, DVC, and AECA.
Customer Service focused; demonstrated ability to WOW your customers.
Must possess the ability to analyze problems and actively seek resolutions, both independently and within a team framework.
Demonstrated ambition, adaptability, and accountability.
Ability to effectively organize workload and meet deadlines.
3-5 years of professional experience with emphasis on international logistics, specifically the Import of international cargo through various modes.
2 years of Customs Brokerage experience preferred
Demonstrated experience interacting with external and internal customers to gather information and coordinate projects and/or shipments to satisfy the client’s needs.
demonstrated knowledge of global freight forwarding or import and/or related industry such as distribution, supply chain logistics.
Strong math, verbal, written and customer service skills and ability to organize, prioritize and execute against established KPIs
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs a MUST.
HazMat certifications (IATA, IMDG, CFR 49, and DOT) a plus
Applied knowledge of Incoterms
