RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for customer support, contract review, manufacturing support and function as the liaison between manufacturing, customer service and sales globally. Coordinate order processing to include: estimating, order entry, system maintenance, production planning, and inventory management.
Non-Production Purchasing
Use procurement software to review, approve and manage non-production related purchases and manage approved vendor list.
Issue PO’s, processes order acknowledgements and requests order status for non-production purchases.
Create and maintain Kanban cards for regularly ordered items.
Perform reconciliation of online suppliers and P-card accounts.
Contract Review
Read and interpret documents, to include: ISO documentation, quality plans, blueprints, system reports, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Summarize and document customer requirements related to manufacturing, inspection and shipping processes.
Customer Support
Enter customer orders, confirm order acknowledgements, and prepare proper paperwork for manufacturing jobs.
Provide service to internal customers and sales regarding delivery and availability of inquiries and expedite as needed.
Build routes in estimating system and from contract review.
Research and resolve complex service problems or delays.
Manufacturing support
Analyze production specifications of processes and capacity data.
Plan and schedule manufacturing jobs to fulfill customer orders.
Issue vendor purchase orders to support operational requirements.
Review order progress to identify and resolve manufacturing delays.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and Segment Managers on projects.
Active member of Lean implementation processes and systems.
Reporting
Develop and report performance measures; estimated lead times, customer and internal distribution orders with the number of routes in process.
Maintain procedures and process documentation.
Meets productivity and quality standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience/education.
Minimum of 4 years in a materials or production planning role and 5 years in manufacturing.
Knowledge and experience working with various software programs for accounting, database and inventory management; order processing systems; spreadsheet and word processing.
Knowledge of MRP and Import/Export logistics is desired.
Excellent communication skills are required, both verbally and in writing.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
