Position : Human Resources Generalist
Job Description : Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will support the Director of Human Resources with administration and compliance in all HR services including payroll, HRIS, benefits, performance management, recruiting, new hire orientation, policy, EEOC, health & safety, and reporting. This position will also support personnel clearance processing for Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.)Continuously improve the effectiveness of the Human Resources function by supporting all programs, policies and procedures including but not limited to employee relations, staffing, retention, recruitment, employee orientation, training and development, organizational development and organizational change.Maintain employee records in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data base.Process and maintain HRIS workflows for employee changes and system integration.Complete payroll bi-weekly reports and funding for 401K Administration.Perform audits of payroll, HRIS, and 401(K) systems to ensure data integrity.Conduct Background Checks, Social Security Verification, and E-Verify for all new hires.Assist with the preparation of AAP, EEO-1, Vets-100 Form 5500 401(k), and other compliance related documents.Assist with Open Enrollment, monthly benefit invoicing, and resolving employee benefit issues.Assist with environmental and safety regulatory requirements.FMLA, STD, and LTD administrative activities including initial applications, tracking, and recording in HRIS.Recruiting effort including job postings, reviewing candidates, scheduling interviews, tracking applicants, and on-boarding process.Benefits Administration including monthly reporting, new hire orientation, tracking and records maintenance.Collaborate with HR Corporate and subsidiary staff throughout the organization on projects, compliance, process improvements and policy.Maintain LMS including loading courses and assessments, assigning training, tracking completion and providing reports.Process clearance investigations for employees and maintain company records in accordance with NISPOM regulations in JPAS, SWFT, DISS and NISS.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Ability: An undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration required.PHR/SHRMCP certification is preferred.Minimum 3 years payroll and/or HRIS experience required.Minimum 3 years broad-based human resources experience required.Recruiting experience required.Ability to interpret compliance regulations into policy and process actions.Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experience.Ability to articulate and summarize complex issues including identifying key issues and follow-up investigations.Ability to research employment law and compliance issues to recommend actions.Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks.Must be able to work independently and have ability to interact effectively with staff and senior management.Strong administrative skills.Excellent judgment, integrity, and discretion when dealing with confidential issues.Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.Ability to pass U.S. Government Background Screening required to obtain Clearance and/or a CAC.Dependable attendance.U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person status.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time, review information on a computer screen and be able to withstand repetitive motion (up to 10 hours a day with lunch and breaks). The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
