Position : Optical Mechanical Assembler II – 1st Shift
Job Description : 1st shift: 6am-3:30pm Monday-Friday (overtime eligible)
Position Description
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of moderately complex electronic tasks following Industry and Collins Aerospace standards for mechanical assembly, and optics handling/cleaning. May be asked to fill in for more senior members of the work area as needed. May work a variety of assembly stations.
Following wiring schematics, written work instructions and verbal instructions assembles electronic subassemblies, top assemblies, and complete assemblies. May be asked to assist other production employees on production activities.
Required to use hand tools and power tools to assemble and rework a variety of parts/assemblies and perform required assembly/rework operations to meet quality standards.
Required to enter time in FIT timekeeping system, charging time to programs being worked and time/attendance.
Regular and reliable attendance is required as well as flexibility to support production schedule requiring working overtime hours and alternate shift hours.
Work in a safe manner, per Collins Aerospace Environmental Health and Safety policies.
Responsible for various SAP transactions to record operations.
Understands and demonstrates Lean principals/practices.
May be required to perform additional duties/responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen
HS Diploma or GED is required. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Selected candidate will need to successfully pass RC’s training program which will occur in the first month of the job
Experience with electronics manufacturing processes
Demonstrated ability to follow work instructions
Preferred Qualifications
Optical Assembly experience
Glass Assembly experience
Experience working with Commercial and Military Products
