South Lane School District is excited to provide summer school this summer for students who:
Are working to meet benchmarks
Need to earn grades and credits missed this school year.
Are enrolled in the Migrant Education Program (through Lane ESD).
Please see details about summer school and the positions needed below:
Elementary Summer School at Harrison Elementary
Elementary Details:
4 days per week (with the exception of July 4)
3 hours of instruction (interventions, project-based learning)
3 hours of enrichment (provided by the Eugene YMCA)
Teachers may teach one session (3 hours) or both sessions (6 hours) each day
Staff Needed:
8-10 teachers (7 hrs/day). These positions may be split (3.5 hrs/day)
8-10 EAs (7 hrs/day)
1 Secretary
1 Nurse
1 EA/Translator
1 SEL Specialist/Counselor
Middle School/High School Summer School at Cottage Grove High School
Middle School Details:
4 days per week (with the exception of July 4)
3.5 hours of instruction M-TH (interventions, project-based learning, enrichment)
Enrichment field trips/activities throughout the summer session
High School Details:
4 days per week (with the exception of July 4)
3.5-4 hrs/day), unless otherwise noted below
Ideally, Core teachers (Math, ELA, SS, SC) will team with an electives/CTE teacher to teach an integrated curriculum,
Online and work experience opportunities offered if staffing allows
Staff Needed:
8-10 Core Teachers (ELA/MA/SC/SS) (4-4.5 hrs/day)
2-4 CTE/Elective Teachers (to team with core teachers)
6 EAs
1 Secretary
1 Nurse
1 Work Experience Coordinator
1 SEL Specialist
Qualifications – Teachers must hold a current Oregon Teaching License with proper endorsement to teach in an area of interest. Experience with extended year programs, academic interventions, trauma informed care, project based learning and ability to speak Spanish or Mam preferred.
Successful applicants must comply with the OHA rule on the COVID-19 vaccine mandate by either being fully vaccinated or have an accepted religious or medical exception by the South Lane School District. The candidate must sign a safety expectation form if granted a medical or religious exception. Compensation
Certified—Pay rate of $26.00 per hour.
Classified—Pay rate determined as per contract (same rate of pay as during school year if performing the same duties, or appropriate placement on the salary scale)
Teachers will be compensated for 20 hours of curriculum development in addition to the summer school hours. High school teachers who team together (Core + CTE/Elective) may be compensated for additional hours of curriculum development if necessary.
