Job Description : MeatEater is seeking a highly-motivated and creative person to assist its Post Production team as a Video Editor. As an Editor for the MeatEater brand, you will join a post team that tackles everything from short form documentary style pieces to long form narrative content to comedic social media videos for the MeatEater brand and its network of thought-leading outdoor influencers, channels and accounts. You must have experience working at or with an outdoor brand, experience in narrative and episodic video editing, experience creative problem solving, and have excellent communication skills.Core ResponsibilitiesEditing documentary narrative episodic, short and long form, videos for the MeatEater networkQuickly assemble edits and implement notes from creatives and company stakeholdersChoosing appropriate music for pieces you edit that are on brand with company standardsCollaboration with the production, hunt, fish, culinary and social media teams on executing the creative vision of brandMixing audio, color correctionScreening videos, noting feedback, and revising as neededCreating trailers and teasers for various platforms (IG, FB, YT, etc.)RequirementsProficient with the Adobe Suite7+ years experience video editing either documentary or narrative for film or TVPassion for video editing and storytellingExcellent communication skillsTeam player with positive, proactive, problem solving attitudeComfortable editing content about hunting and fishingAbility to work on tight turnarounds and deadlinesOrganizational skills and ability to multi-task and follow up in an ever changing, fast paced environmentExperience working at or in partnership with an outdoor company or brand(s)Preferred QualificationsProven ability to drive progress in a start-up environmentUnderstanding of latest trends in video editing and motion graphicsUnderstanding of social media, videos and YouTube best practicesInterest in hunting, fishing, cooking and conservationBA or equivalentAbout MeatEater, Inc.MeatEater, Inc. is an outdoor lifestyle media and commerce company founded by renowned writer, TV, and podcast personality Steven Rinella.
