Position Overview:
The Wellness Consultant II serves as a mentor the other Wellness Consultant I’s. The Wellness Consultant II provides expertise and consulting to strategic employer accounts, internal stakeholders and community partners around worksite wellness and health promotion. This position is responsible for working closely with sales on new client acquisition and finalist presentations as well as the strategic planning, development, implementation and management of employer facing worksite wellness and health promotion programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
Consult with Key Strategic Accounts in the development of a well-being strategy addressing the five dimensions of employee well-being specific to each organization, their work culture and the needs of their employees.
Working in partnership with our clients, their brokers, and any other internal stakeholders to assess, plan, and evaluate best practice strategies related to employee well-being. Offer programs, tools and resources from our comprehensive suite of health and well-being services and collaborate with vendors, community, and internal assets as needed to expand resources and align with an employer’s needs
Responsible for developing goals and objectives to determine the best course of action to optimize the well-being of their employee population considering their capacity to commit and operationalize the strategy. Design annual well-being plan that brings value to each stakeholder. Provide guidance on how federal regulations impact worksite well-being programs (ACA, GINA, ADA, etc.)
Identify and collect meaningful data to measure success and share results with key stakeholders. Evaluate client well-being strategy and tactics (communication plan, programs/services, engagement, etc.) to assess effectiveness throughout the year.
Support and consult with employer-based wellness committees to help steer worksite well-being activities, based on known data, best practice strategies and current resources available.
Participate on the PacificSource Healthy Life Wellness Committee, lead regional well-being efforts and assist in the strategy around employee health promotion programs and activities.
Mentor Wellness Consultants I and Interns by providing continual support and guidance related to wellness programs and initiatives that address the company’s and department’s strategic initiatives.
Consult and collaborate with MarComm on projects that require wellness expertise. Work with Marketing Department to plan, organize and develop key worksite wellness collateral. This may include researching and authoring relevant well-being content for internal and external clients that aligns with best practice strategies and client needs, and goals.
Provide excellent customer service with both internal and external clients that include contact via phone calls, emails, written communications, and face-to-face interactions.
Participate in wellness related community outreach and events. Including serving on community councils and boards where well-being expertise influences the health outcomes of the communities we serve.
Serve as customer service liaison between employer clients and PacificSource contracted wellness vendors. Provide primary support and guidance to the employer clients around any customization to their configuration to the PacificSource online health engagement portal including customized rewards design, challenge implementation and customized content and access needs.
Participate in presentations to prospective or current employer groups, agents, and employer benefit committees on available PacificSource wellness programs and activities.
Supporting Responsibilities:
Represent the Health Promotion and Wellness team on designated committees, teams, and task groups, as a subject matter expert and department liaison as needed
Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Experience: Minimum of three years prior wellness experience to include developing and implementing well-being initiatives as a Wellness Consultant, Program Manager or equivalent required. Event and project planning experience preferred.
Education, Certificates, Licenses: Baccalaureate degree in Health Education, Public Health, Health Promotion or related field or licensed health care practitioner or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
Knowledge: Microsoft Office required, specifically Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working independently, with a team, in a supervisory role to other wellness consultants, and in a leadership role in a health and wellness related field. Ability to define and prioritize problems and manage workload with little direct supervision. Proven ability to develop creative program materials, including promotional pieces. Previous experience working with clients to develop, lead and implement worksite wellness programming. Excellent communication skills to interact daily with clients and employees at client site. Ability to measure and evaluate program components.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements: Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions. Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing.
