Job Description : DEPARTMENT: DevelopmentREPORTS TO: Communications Manager STATUS: Full Time, Non-exempt SALARY: $40,000 – $50,000 plus benefits OVERALL POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Communications Coordinator is part of the communications team sharing the work of Union Gospel Mission with the public through print and digital marketing, social media, and other marketing/advertising promotions. They develop video/photo/graphic design and story content for all communication channels which creatively engage the public to support Union Gospel Mission.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Develop content strategy with the Communications ManagerProduce photos/video/graphics and stories for print and online distributionWork with Communications Manager on digital marketing/advertising/social mediaDESIRED OUTCOMES (RESULTS): 1. Produce videos, photos, infographics and stories for online distribution.2. Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn).3. Work with the Communications Manager to execute strategies for website optimization, and digital fundraising strategies.4. Content development and graphic design of printed materials such as newsletters, informational brochures, annual reports and other printed materials. Ensure continuity of Union Gospel Mission brand and messagingQUALIFICATIONSAssociates/bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, English, or Graphic Design. Excellent writing skills required. Must be creative, flexible and results oriented.Christian believer, committed to Jesus.Commitment to the work of Union Gospel Mission and compassion for the homeless, poor and addicted.Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.Skilled in video production, photography and graphic design.Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in social media management and digital marketing.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork schedule is flexible, some evenings, weekends and holidays required. Requires some on-site work but a lot of work can be done remotely.Work is primarily at a desk but will also require gathering video/photos/stories throughout the Mission and various locations.This role will require working with many people in a fast paced and spontaneous work environment. Flexibility is required.
