Providence is calling a Histologist Non-Certified (Clinical Laboratory Services, Day Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Ensure that any specimen that arrives in the laboratory does not go unattended
Notify appropriate personnel of problems related to specimen collection or testing
Record diagnosis and submits to pathologist
Utilize a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to ensure that testing is completed at the appropriate time to meet clinical needs
Keep leadership apprised of problems, workflow and other relevant issues
Verify accuracy of pathology request with specimen
Maintain inventory of histology chemicals and dyes
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Six (6) months of experience as a histologist – or- on-the-job training in a histology lab
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Histology technician program
Histologist certification
