Job Description : Who we are: We’re the West Michigan Whitecaps, Class High-A Minor League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. What you’ll do: You’ll the assist the Clubhouse Manager with requests from players, coaches and team staff. You’ll assist with the movement of equipment from each team (bats, balls, helmets, water, cups, towels, etc.) to each dugout. During games you’ll retrieve bats, balls and other equipment from the field of play and distribute balls to the umpires while never interfering with the game. After games, you’ll remove equipment and assist in cleaning the dugout. And have a lot of fun doing it! Other duties may be assigned by the Clubhouse Manager.
What you need: You’ll need some knowledge of baseball and the flow of the game. You’ll need to be able to hold a high level of professionalism and make judgement calls in dealing with professional athletes and coaches. You’ll need the ability to multitask and communicate on a high level. Flexibility is key since every day here is different. You’ll need a willingness to work nights, holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
