Join our team!!We are hiring IMMEDIATELY for a Developmental Disabilities Abuse Investigator to join one of our community mental health providers!Summary: This position will conduct abuse investigations for individuals in Developmental Disability (DD) and Mental Health (MH) services. The Developmental Disability Program provides specialized services to meet the unique needs of those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our program serves children and adults, partnering with service providers and government agencies to offer the education and resources needed to help give every member of our community the opportunity to live well.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: Complete Core Competency training as required by the Office of Adult Abuse Prevention and Investigations (OAAPI).Attend DD and MH Abuse Investigator Quarterly meetings in person at least once/year; others by Skype or phone.Screen and document all allegations of abuse to determine if an investigation is warranted.Complete a SI form for all allegations of abuse and determine whether the allegation will be screened out from further investigation (County Review) or screened-in (Abuse Investigation).Conduct Abuse Investigation per OTIS guidelines and Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS).Use OTIS designated forms and systems to conduct Abuse Investigations.Ensure Protective Services are provided to each individual who is alleged to have been abused.Enter allegation details into DD Database.Complete quarterly report summary and review with all DD staff.All Staff is Mandatory Abuse Reporters per the State of Oregon, and as such, all staff must be aware of and follow Mandatory Abuse Reporting policies.Other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience: Knowledge of the public service system for Developmental Disability services in Oregon.Must have, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field; or a Bachelor’s Degree in any field AND one year of human services related experience; or an Associate’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field AND two years’ human services related experience; or three years of human services related experience.In addition, a minimum of 5 years’ experience is required.The staff member must participate in a minimum of 20 hours per year DHS sponsored or other training in the area of developmental disabilities. Abuse investigators must participate in additional 20 hours per year of required training.Skilled at working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and completing required documentation.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Full professional fluency in English.Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to multitask from anywhere in the service region.Articulate well, speak precisely and think and write clearly.Required to have and maintain an Oregon or Washington Driver’s license and meet the agency’s insurance carrier’s insurance standards at the time of hire.
