PlayX is responsible for a big part of the core Spotify experience: from making users feel like all the content in the world is in their pocket; encoding, through delivery and download; to orchestrating the intentions of creators, curators, and listeners into millions of audio and video experiences every day.
This position will be to work directly with the teams that enable “orchestration” for all Spotify apps and integrated clients. Orchestration includes everything from track sequencing and base playback behaviours (play, pause, skip, repeat, shuffle etc.) to meeting legal/contractual compliance, and ensuring users can transfer and resume their playback experiences anytime and on any device they choose.
In this role as a Product Manager you will work with a mix of client and backend engineers to envision, experiment with and continuously evolve the future of playback at Spotify. You can be located anywhere in EMEA where we have legal entities (list above).
What you’ll do:
Ensure your team is doing the right things, while not being spread too thin. A healthy balance of innovation, support, and maintenance is key for successful teams at Spotify.
Drive product discovery for your product, organising, leading and performing research and customer discovery.
Build mutually beneficial relationships with other areas of the business, while driving forward the vision of your area.
Write product specifications, user stories, etc. to build alignment between your team and other teams across Spotify.
Lean into major company initiatives in order to proactively reduce the time-to-market while ensuring a balanced development pace and low technical debt.
Work tightly with your peer product and engineering leaders to set the product vision, build and communicate strategy.
Collaborate with the leadership team to evolve its practices and grow an outstanding organisation, where people can thrive
Who you are:
