Job Description : VTM’s Engineering and Technical Services department is looking to hire a Technical Project Manager.The Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) team manages and oversees day-to-day enforcement of global compliance programs, supports the development of specifications, testing procedures, and other deliverables which support our clients’ missions. Our team has the experience and knowledge to bring compliance programs to life. In addition to technical program management, ETS team members are plugfest experts. We’ve invented many of the processes used by plugfests around the world. With unique, multiple-technology scheduling and data collection capabilities, the ETS team supports the success of our clients anywhere in the world.By joining our team, you’ll be providing technical and leadership skills in support of our industry organizations.The Technical Project Manager will initially be working as a member of a client support team but will eventually become the primary point of contact for some of our clients. This position requires a willingness to be flexible in the methods and tools used to track project and task progress. Each client’s needs are different, and the successful candidate will excel in evaluating the needs of the client.Skills and experience required for the role: · Technical background: associates, or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent education and work experience· Ability to create procedures and processes that are easy to understand· Familiarity with program management principles and tools; especially MS Project or LibreProject· Comfortable leading groups and presenting technical topics in person or in virtual meetings; group sizes range from two to four engineers in a meeting setting to hundreds of people on a trade-show floor· Intermediate expertise in the MS-Office Suite· Self-motivated· Ability to travel to both domestic and international locations, about 25% of the timeExperience with the following considered a plus:· Knowledge of LAN protocols, Data Centers, and/or IT equipment· Intermediate knowledge of MS Project or LibreProject· Intermediate (or better) capability writing MS Excel macros· General familiarization with videography and/or video editing· Degree or minor in Communications StudiesA little about us: For more than 20 years, VTM has tailored our tools and services to best support standard-setting alliances and technical consortia.
