With over 80 years of combined experience, Lighthouse serves as a beacon of hope to our neighbors who need it most by offering assistance with emergency basic needs alongside housing programs and supportive services designed to support long-term economic stability. Lighthouse owns and operates Spero Housing Group, a subsidiary non-profit dedicated specifically to developing and operating high quality affordable and supportive housing for persons of low and moderate income, as well as HandUp, a community and crowdfunding platform serving 100+ homeless service agencies and their clients across the United States.Position SummaryThe Emergency Food Coordinator will assist the operations of Lighthouse’s emergency food distribution efforts. Emergency food is being distributed through a no-touch home delivery process using volunteer drivers. The Emergency Food Coordinator will work to coordinate home deliveries through an online database. Tasks will vary depending on that week’s unique needs, but will be in alignment with the general responsibilities listed below. If you have worked onsite and are feeling unwell, you will be expected to let your supervisor know immediately.*Responsibilities and Duties*Assist with verifying client eligibility as applicable,Assist with coordinating home deliveries for emergency food,Pair clients and volunteer drivers based on availability and geography,Call and email clients and volunteers to confirm needs and services,Help coordinate other services as needed,Participate in relevant team meetings,Assist with compiling data and reports in a timely manner,Implement and enforce agency policies and values to maintain a safe, client-centered, and inclusive environment for clients, volunteers, and staff, andLight clerical work including answering and directing phone calls,Assist our warehouse team as needed.*Minimum Qualifications*Lived or professional experience working with people experiencing homelessness or extreme levels of poverty in the USHigh School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experienceGood customer service skills requiredProficient in G-Suite and Microsoft Office systemsHighly organized and professionally mature with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work independentlyAbility to work weekends and evenings_This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
