We value and expect our staff to maintain a calm therapeutic environment.The main role of the Youth Care Worker at Betsy’s Place is:Maintain safety of all children and staffDevelop appropriate and meaningful relationships with staff and childrenCommunicate effectively with children, other staff, and managementTeach daily life skillsVerbally de-escalate crisisDocument as requiredThese tasks are not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.We need dependable Youth Care Workers that are able to be effective with the treatment of children who are victims and survivors of abuse and neglect.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GEDTeachableAbility to communicate effectively with young kidsDemonstrate sound judgmentCommunicate with team members and management to solve problems and improve serviceMotivated and positive personalityDedication to constant improvementFoster and support a calm therapeutic environmentPunctuality and regular/reliable attendance (this is a big one, 3-strike rule in effect)Ability to stand for long periods of time and climb up/down stairsBetsy’s Place, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
