Job Description : Summary: Provides support and assistance to Nursing Department and staff. Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Nurse, performs limited supportive care for residents, including a variety of tasks, such as assisting residents with personal items, passing snacks and pouring beverages.

Essential Functions:
Keep residents’ living areas pleasant and orderly, including straightening rooms and shower rooms, cleaning bedside stands and closets, making beds and changing linen.
Complete Vital Signs and document in POC.
Respond promptly to resident call lights and resident requests.
Labels resident clothing and belongings.
Passes meal trays and offers tray set-up. Assist with feeding.
Document food acceptance in POC.
Serves food and busses dishes in the dining room.
Wash residents’ face and hands prior to and after meals, place clothing protectors on residents as needed.
Pass snacks and ice water.
Observe and report resident conditions to appropriate staff.
Properly dispose of trash and/or soiled linen.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-services.
Interact with peers, other staff members and residents in a courteous and professional manner.
Prioritize work assignments to ensure completion of resident care activities.
Transports/escorts residents to areas within the facility, e.g. dining areas, activities, resident care conferences, etc.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members.
Ability to learn infection control techniques.
Ability to be patient and polite.
Must possess a supportive, cooperative, and caring demeanor.
Good listening skills.
Very good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with long term care, rehabilitation, and memory care residents.
Must have good organizational skills and be detail-oriented to complete tasks in a thorough manner.
Ability to critically assess a situation and utilize effective communication strategies, including chain of command and issue escalation
Computer skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Must complete AHCA Temporary Nurse Aide training course prior to start date.
