Checker Transportation is a Detroit-based taxi, limousine, school, and non-emergency medical transportation company. Checker Cab provides dispatching services to our independent contractor drivers for seamless operations. The drivers own or third-party lease their vehicles.

Many other transportation companies let you receive just a small percentage of the fare. At Checker, all cash and credit/debit fares from individual passengers, whether dispatched or flagged on the street, are yours to keep 100%! Checker does not take a percentage at all.

At Checker Transportation, you pay a set lease to the car owner for everything except fuel and you keep all the revenue from private party fares. (A small fee is charged by Checker on commercial account trips, if you choose to accept them). You determine what you want to make. Typically our drivers take home $500-$1000 per week after their lease payment, and more if they are driving their own car.

Checker Transportation is very selective and only allows participation by drivers that meet the following requirements:

Have or obtain before starting, a Chauffeurs license
Neat, clean professional appearance
Courteous, effective face-to-face and direct communication skills
Operate simple applications on an Android Tablet device
Minimum five years driving experience
Must have a good driving record (at your cost of $11, required)
Must past drug screen (at your cost $14, optional with conditions)
