Position : Construction Laborer
Job Description : JOB SUMMARYSCS Laborer III will be expected to use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS§ Assist Journeyman in all trades if there is not sufficient work available in your base trade.§ Understand and follow all SCS, OSHA, MSHA, or client safety policies.§ Complete all assigned safety trainings as required by SCS or client.§ Work directly with Foreman’s, Superintendents, and project management staff to facilitate safe and timely completion of work.§ Must have transportation to and from projects.§ Valid driver’s license required to operate company vehicles.NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS§ Provide assistance to contractors as needed.§ Work environment may include exposure to live sewer conditions depending on project assignment.EDUCATION§ High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus.EXPERIENCE§ Five (5) years minimum verified experience in heavy construction projects.§ Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.SCOPE OF AUTHORITY§ Has authority to work independently or as an active member of a team.WORKING CONDITIONS§ Often works in outside weather conditions.§ Must be able to walk and move around at job sites.§ Must be comfortable working at elevated levels.§ The person in this position must be able to kneel, crouch, or stoop to be able to position self to see different areas at job sites.§ Ability to lift and or move up to 75 lbs.§ The person in this position frequently communicates with other office staff.Job Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: $35.50 – $36.00 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Work Location: One location
