Job Summary
The Customer Service Associate position operates in a virtual claims contact center environment, assisting customers needing to file an insurance claim. Interactions with customers include initiating and explaining the claims process, providing status on existing claims, and providing other services to the customers as needed.

Essential Job Functions
Responds to inbound telephone inquiries in a Claims Contact Center.
Initiates auto and homeowner claims by obtaining preliminary loss information from agents, insureds and third parties.
Provide customers with an explanation of the claim process.
May authorize services such as roadside assistance and rental cars.
Responsible for efficient and accurate completion of customer inquiries regarding the status of existing claims.
Ensures all customer interactions are clearly and accurately documented in the claim file.
Maintains job knowledge through intermittent training/learning and incorporates new information into daily tasks.

Excellent customer focus with an understanding of how to adapt to each customer while focusing on the outcome to solve their problems efficiently with low customer effort. This role is not scripted and is has a consultative approach to help the customer.

The ability to multi-task, working proficiently while conversing on the phone, searching information, reading, typing, and quickly picking up new technology.

A preference to working in an ever-changing, fast-paced, contact center environment where you can effectively manage time and exhibit reliability and dependability in attendance.

Emotional resiliency to manage feelings and find positive aspects in most situations.

Here’s what you will accomplish as a member of our team:

Build effective communication skills to deliver insurance and eligibility information, solutions and initiatives that provide a positive customer experience to internal and external customers.

Hold expert knowledge of company products, services, and strategies across multiple lines of insurance.

Use technology and learning resources to deliver efficient problem resolution.

Proactively share knowledge to reduce customer effort.

Work Schedule
Our priority is our customers, so we work non-traditional work weeks to match those needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. We are open 7 days a week, from 7:00am-11:00pm EST. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
Start Date: Monday, May 2, 2022
Paid Training Hours: Monday – Friday / 9:00am – 5:45pm EST (9 weeks)
Location: Virtual / Remote – Greater Grand Rapids Areas/Lower Michigan & Georgia Residents Only

Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements
Customer Service Experience preferred.

Special Skill Requirement
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
Assumes personal responsibility for actions
Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Possesses strong technical aptitude including the ability to master multiple windows simultaneously
