Job Description : General Position SummaryWe are looking for a full-time, in-house IT Network Technician to provide technical support to our employees, volunteers, and other customers by phone, through electronic forums, and in person. For employees to properly perform their jobs, the technician ensures that the organization’s personal computers, servers, networks, system hardware, software, data equipment, and telecommunications equipment are available and working properly. The technician also works with outside contacts to resolve issues as needed.The position is Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a weekend on-call rotation.Essential Functions/Major ResponsibilitiesResponds to help desk issues and determines the nature of the problem.Assists with training in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other software and technology; resolves customer issues accurately and efficiently and to the satisfaction of the customer/employee.Responsible for day-to-day operations of all IT devices systems and interfaces, serving as internal computer expert and resource to staff, repairing and maintaining computers, printers and peripherals including phones and tablets.Identifies, analyzes, and resolves hardware and software problems determining causes and initiates corrective action.Oversees computer applications, interfaces, and operating systems to ensure proper use, aligning computer and voice system technology to support the organization’s mission.Serves as liaison with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), billing, and other software vendors.Performs EMR support including reporting functionality and database administration.Develops, maintains, and monitors information system procedures and policies.Ensures maintenance and backup procedures for computer systems is scheduled and performed as industry best practices determine.Develops and maintains clear and concise written documentation for systems and IT procedures.Assists in development of disaster recovery program for systems and facilities.Ensures that the security program provides the necessary safeguards that meet all corporate and government regulatory requirements.Ensures system and data backup, restore, and recovery procedures are in place and audits for compliance.Installs and/or configures new equipment as directed.Follows IT department security policies and procedures.Assists with afterhours calls on a rotating schedule.Assists in preparing equipment for events and meetings.Specific Job Skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.· Demonstrates respect for differing technical abilities.Demonstrates competence in all areas of IT systems, technology, and devices.· Ability to function in high stress situations and manage multiple priorities.· Ability to present self, organization, and profession in a professional manner.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with team members, professional groups, volunteers, and public.Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware and software problems.Ability to install and configure Windows workstation.Ability to configure and troubleshoot network equipment including data switches, telephony equipment, routers, and security devices.Must be able to work with team members and independentlyMust be able to meet the physical demands of the job.Effective time management skills.Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.Ability to provide effective organization wide training programs.Emotional maturity to cope with the ongoing needs of participating in a hospice program.Ability to continuously sit and make repetitive motions using hands/wrists involved in working on the telephone and with a computer terminal, keyboard, and mouse.Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, grasp, handle and reach to complete filing tasks.Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move PCs and other equipment.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and on call on a rotating schedule.Education/ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED required.Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline such as computer science, information services or related field is preferred.Microsoft or CompTIA A+ certifications desired.Two years of experience with technical support of information systems, software applications, PC repair, and support to users required.Experience in network administration, including data switches, routers, telephony, server, and endpoint troubleshooting and problem resolution required.Experience with Microsoft 365 suite of applications required.Experience with Cisco servers, EMRs, and Accounting Systems preferred.Computer literacy, including demonstrated software proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and data bases. Knowledge of hardware and software installation, testing and operation. Knowledge of application of computer software for automating diverse organization. Knowledge of the principle of data communications and telecommunications. Knowledge of teleprocessing and telecommunications architecture.Proficient with Windows servers and VPNsCertification/LicensureCurrent Oregon driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance is required.Thank you for your interest in joining the team at Willamette Vital Health.
