Job Description : Billing & Bookkeeping Assistant Job Description Juliette’s House is a Child Abuse Intervention Center. Our mission is to medically assess, support, and treat children who are suspected victims of abuse or neglect. Located in McMinnville, OR. we are the sole organization in Yamhill County providing comprehensive child abuse assessment, intervention services, and trauma-focused mental health treatment. Nationally accredited Juliette’sHouse is a place of healing for children, along with their non-offending family members or caregivers.We are seeking a Billing Assistant to join our team and provide support to our Finance Manager, specifically billing out medical services of our Clinical Services team and newly renovated mental health services program.JOB SUMMARY The Billing & Bookkeeping Assistant is primarily responsible for processing Medical AssessmentServices and mental health reimbursement claims with insurers. This position will work collaboratively with our Finance Manager and our therapy staff to provide exceptional service to our child clients, their caregivers and support the overall financial well-being of Juliette’s House. Further, the Billing Assistant is a vital member of our financial management team, led by our Finance Manager, who reports to the COO.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are representative of the responsibilities of this position. These assignments may change as the needs and priorities of the organization evolve.Work in coordination with our Finance Manager, our therapy staff, and all JH staff as neededCultivate and manage positive ongoing relationships with mental health clients and familiesCultivate and manage positive ongoing relationships with insurers and other key stakeholdersAccurately process medical and mental health claims with insurersEngage in appeal process as necessary to satisfactory conclusionWork with the therapist to submit treatment authorizationsWork with client caregivers and insurers to verify benefitsProvide precise data entry with great attention to detailComplete Month End billing procedures and reportsAs needed, greet clients and families, and collect copays and deductiblesCompleting other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS A minimum of three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in billing medical/mental health claimsKnowledge of mental health and medical billing practices, CPT, and diagnosis codesKnowledge of claim filing – paper and electronicKnowledge of accounts receivableFeb. 2022Knowledge of HIPAAKnowledge of Provider Credentialing and ContractingSuperb relationship building skillsExcellent verbal/written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsMastery of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, OutlookExperience with QuickBooksAbility to operate office equipment, including copiers, printers, fax machines and scannersExcellent problem-solving skills, research skills, and ability to follow throughAdaptability and openness to alternative solutions and flexibility when interacting with othersCapable of handling multiple projects with competing prioritiesAbility to meet deadlines while anticipating quickly changing needsAttention to detail and accuracyWork both independently and as a collaborative team memberAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a professional demeanor, and always represent the organization in a positive mannerMust have reliable transportationMust have ability to perform work that could require sitting, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 25 poundsJuliette’s House is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer in full compliance with theADA and the State of Oregon.
