Job Description : Imago Dei Learning Community (IDLC) is a K-12 learning community on a mission to provide a Christ-centered, learner-driven model of education that is creative, meaningful, and flexible for learners, families, and educators. IDLC provides a unique approach to learning and is the only learner-driven program within 25 miles of the Georgetown area.Job Description: GuideAt IDLC, teachers are referred to as “guides” who come alongside and provide support to children as they learn. Guides will have the opportunity to get to know the interests, abilities, and challenges of each individual learner in order to help create, facilitate, and track individual learning plans and goals. Guides will intentionally and authentically model the IDLC core values, infusing them into all academic, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the learning day. Guides at Imago Dei Learning Community invest in teaching children HOW to learn instead of WHAT to learn, in order to foster natural curiosity, promote adaptability, develop growth mindset/problem-solving skills, and to inspire a lifelong love of learning.IDLC Core ValuesChrist-CenteredWe seek to glorify God in all that we do. Flexibility is applied in the areas of schedule, academics, tools/resources, and physical learning environment in order to honor and accommodate the unique abilities, interests, and challenges of each student.A Guide in a Learner-Driven Model: Guides and facilitates learning (does not lecture) in a multi-age setting.Provides one-on-one, small group, and large group support.Understands and supports the Mission and Vision of IDLC.Lives out the IDLC faith statement in their personal and professional life.Demonstrates a growth mindset.Embraces flexibility and the IDLC model of “structure with freedom.”Assists in creating, implementing, and tracking individual learning plans.Assists in creating and implementing curriculum for hands-on learning.Leverages technology and resources to personalize and maximize learning.Commits to professional and personal growth; models what it means to be a lifelong learner.Commits to professional and personal growth; models what it means to be a lifelong learner.Engages in staff devotions and scheduled meetings.Seeks to do what is God-honoring, and best for the child, in all circumstances.Position RequirementsMinimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or similar field.Must have at least 3 years experience working with children in a multi-age setting.Must be able to pass a federal and state background check and central registry clearance.Previous experience in creating curriculum preferred but not required.Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $18.00 – $30.00 per hourBenefits:Paid time offProfessional development assistanceSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
