Position : Development Director
Job Description : The responsibilities include (not limited to):
Development and implementation of all fundraising programs and initiatives to include Adopt-A-Horse, Mustang Legacy Program, and Trailblazer Program
Development and implementation of all virtual and in-person fundraising events
Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships
Maintains ongoing communications with private and corporate donors
Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders
Assists in the development, production, and updating of donor-facing materials such as annual reports, brochures, and emails
Works closely with marketing team to implement marketing programs to maximize prospect and donor engagement
Works closely with the CEO providing strategy and insight on fundraising approach
Make public appearances and speaking engagements
Oversees fundraising database (Bloomerang) and tracking systems
Oversees creation of publications or other content to support fundraising activities
Maintains donor recognition programs
The ideal candidate:
Must embrace the mission: To offer combat veterans an alternative solution for defining and approaching their physical and mental scars—a solution that does not include prescription medications, or traditional psychotherapy, but rather the opportunity to use tools to redefine their purpose, rediscover their inner strength, and maximize their potential by taking ownership of their lives for the first time since leaving service.
Must have knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques; capital campaign experience a plus
Must possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and volunteers
Must be a born “self-starter” and goal-driven
Must be open-minded with an innovative mindset
Must be organized and exhibit exceptional follow through
Must demonstrate professional conduct and excellence
The skills required are:
3+ years’ fundraising experience
Familiarity with Bloomerang or other donor database
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and G-suite
The technical ability to identify and manage online fundraising platforms
Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Ability and willingness to travel
Preferred candidates can accomplish fundraising goals with the help of:
Marketing and design tools and platforms
Video, audio, and streaming media
Multiple social media platforms
The position logistics:
Working with entire team and reporting to CEO
Full-time Position
