Position : Quality Improvement Analyst
Job Description : Job Overview: The Quality and Improvement Analyst is responsible for assisting in the hospital wide performance improvement program data collection and reporting. The position works independently to abstracts clinical quality measure data per program specifications and inputs the data into the appropriate internal/external programs. The position is also responsible for analyzing the gaps in performance for improvement opportunity and provides reports for leadership.

Essential Duties or Responsibilities:
Clinical Quality Measurement, Analysis and Data Management 80 %
Automates internal and external reports.
Maintains department-level dashboards, monitoring existing quality improvement processes, analyzing data trends.
Presents data to leadership team regarding impacts of the data collected and analyzed.
Recommends and implements improvement measures towards patient safety and the quality of patient care services.
Collects and analyzes data to support quality improvement program and supported IT systems.
Provides timely detailed and in-depth reviews on quality measures and interventions.
Recommends and implements process improvement actions.
Training and other duties as assigned 15%
Develops training material pertaining to data driven improvement process.
Assesses training outcomes and effectiveness.
Modifies QI training programs as necessary to meet the changing needs of staff.
Other Duties as Assigned 5%
Assists with tasks and assignments provided by senior and executive leadership.
Participates in team activities as directed.
Provides input and feedback to Hospital Administrator / Chief Operations Officer as directed.
Performs other duties as directed.
Physical and Environmental Demands: This position consists of physical demands typical to an office environment. This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, writing, typing, reading, walking, talking, listening, bending, stooping, and climbing. This position encounters patients in a psychiatric hospital where individuals may become unpredictable and violent. The position may be required to respond in an emergency including physical and verbal de-escalation techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of statistical analysis.
Working knowledge of healthcare information system analysis and information system security.
Working knowledge of project management methodologies.
Working knowledge of electronic medical record system’s functions and associated regulations.
Working knowledge in medical terminology.
Ability to operate PC and general office equipment necessary to complete essential functions.
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to solve complex process and system problems.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to identify problems, research, and develop/implement solutions.
Ability to exercise sound judgment when solving problems.
Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to build trust and credibility in working relationships.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications (Education and Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Health Administration, or related field.
Two-years of direct job-related clinical work experience including but not limited to project management, clinical data process & analysis, information technology systems development, etc.
Certification/License in healthcare field preferred.
Project Management certification preferred.
Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
