Full time – $83,736 – $102,073 Annually
The City of Estacada is now accepting applications for a Community Development Director. This position will plan, direct, and administer all activities of the community development department including, but not limited to: economic development and urban renewal; current and long-range land use planning; building plan review and permitting; and other related operations.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Provides direct service as the head of all Economic Development activities including Urban Renewal, small business support, and liaison to the city’s industrial areas and employers. Administers urban renewal grant programs, manages urban renewal projects, markets and coordinates with Clackamas County to promote and administer the City’s Vertical Housing Development Zone and Enterprise Zone.Develops, implements, and administers programs and policies to ensure effective development of public and private properties and foster positive relationships with the development community in compliance with City standards, federal, state, regional, and local laws.Formulates and recommends policies on development, growth management, land use, transportation, infrastructure, the built and natural environment, and housing. Advises City board members on goals, priorities, programs, and regulations for land use, conservation, municipal infrastructure and livability of the City.Directs and conducts communications programs to enhance public awareness of growth and planning challenges.Plans, organizes, controls, integrates and evaluates the work of the department.Prepares and administers, and monitors the department budget based on staffing and resource requirements and program objectives and goals.Acts as liaison between Community Development, the community, and other public agencies; confers with citizens, community groups, civic organizations and the press.
