Job Description : GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of all operations related to the terminal reprocessing of selected patient care equipment, surgical instrumentation, and floor instrument sets; responsible for human resource management throughout the department. Develop and drive process improvement initiatives. Manage the budget and information systems for the department. Drive Joint Commission compliance. Ability to manage and coordinate unit activities in collaboration with other clinical areas.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Central Processing Department
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assumes 24/7 accountability to manage all operations and systems related to instrument processing and patient care.
Ensures regulatory compliance is implemented and monitored.
Human resource activity including but not limited to the new hire interviews, employee evaluations, employee engagement, scheduling/assignments, and counseling/performance improvement.
Manage day to day financial and information systems for central processing duties, in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers and Business Director. Includes preparation of annual and capital budgets.
Committee and Professional organization membership as assigned or as applicable.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education / Training:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant area required.
Work Experience:
5 years experience in central processing management required. Experience in OR information and purchasing systems strongly preferred.
Certification, Licensure, Registration:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician.
Central Processing Certification.
Other Qualifications:
Professional writing skills-required. Proficiency in computerized information system- required.
