We are looking for an Experience Research Manager II. You’re a seasoned team member who thrives as an authority. You’re a pro at uncovering consumer needs through a variety of qualitative research methods. You love solving hard problems and can present complex ideas in a way that’s easy to understand anticipating objections while persuading others to adopt and act on a point of view.
You’re a champion of user research standard methodologies and continually work to maintain a human-centered product design culture. Your people and communication skills are unparalleled. You’re a thoughtful storyteller who is adept at crafting work that persuade, influence and inspire multi-disciplinary teams. You’ve got an in-depth knowledge of the digital retail landscape, premier examples, and emerging trends.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
The Experience Research & Analytics team relentlessly improves the consumer experience by delivering action-oriented qualitative and quantitative insights across all Nike Direct touchpoints. We are a multi-disciplinary team with data scientists, analysts, and experience researchers across both embedded squads and centers of excellence. We partner with designers, product managers, engineers and many other partners across Nike.com, Nike App, SNKRS, NTC, NRC and Nike Stores to create and optimize experiences that are distinctly Nike and serve the needs of the consumer.
WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
Partner with data science, analytics, product and design teams to build consumer empathy while putting consumer needs at the center of the development process
Act as an ongoing through partner and strategic advisor to product and design partners to ensure insights are being interpreted and effectively applied
Influence and deliver against your domain’s research roadmap field requests, prioritize against business needs, and define delivery timelines
Apply a variety of qualitative methods (including but not limited to surveys, diary studies, interviews, etc.) to discover whitespace opportunities, explore propositions and validate solutions
Design and moderate consumer interviews that elicit authentic behaviors and reactions
Lead synthesis of qualitative findings and present them in a way that informs, influences and shapes product design decisions
What you bring to nike:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field e.g. Behavioral Economics, Psychology, Design Research/Human Factors, Marketing, Business, Social Sciences, etc; or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
Passion for the consumer experience, ideally at the intersection of digital, retail and sports
Deep experience with user-centered research methodologies and how to apply them
Excellent scoping and project management skills
Experience conducting research virtually and globally, including non-English markets
Strong storytelling and presentation skills – you find clear and compelling ways to communicate rich customer insights to multi-functional partners with clear implications that drive action
Proven impact to digital products and/or retail experiences as a result of your research
Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.
