Job Description : Freeway Transport – Freight BrokerFT/PT Status: Full TimeShift: Monday – Saturday(7am – 4pm) Saturday every 3rd (7am – 11am)Hourly Rate: $70,000- $80,000Freeway Transport – is a freight brokerage in Portland, OR. Started in 1970 they have been brokering freight in the 48 states. With a heavy focus on the west coast moving produce. Dealing with refrigerated trucks. Freeway works with some of the largest Produce warehouse in the Northwest.Benefits Include: Medical & Dental insurance through Kaiser.PTO accruals begin on the first day!401(k) Retirement PlanResponsibilities: Booking, brokering, and moving freightProvide excellent customer service, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to recognize and support the specific needs of the most vulnerable customersGain credibility with clients and carries by resolving conflicts in a positive and professional mannerResponsible to deal with transportation companies and truck driversConfers with customers by telephone or email to get information about loadsConfers with trucking companies by telephone or email to get information to them.Checks to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customer’s problemsManages incoming and outgoing calls on a multi-line phoneOther duties as assignedJob Qualifications: 3-5 years of transportation brokering experience (including over-the-phone and in-person)· Must have a current Book Sales of Business as a Freight BrokerAbility to work cooperatively with all departments as necessaryNeeds to be available to be on call 24 hours of the dayHighly organized and strong attention to detailExcellent written, verbal communication skills, and problem solverAbility to stay calm in a fast-paced/energetic environmentSelf-motivated, self-starter that works well in a team environmentPrevious experience with the Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook primarily) strongly preferredMulti-tasking with a strong emphasis on thinking on your feetDemonstrated customer service success*Position is contingent upon a successful background check and ability to pass a drug screen, including THC.Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftOn callWork Location: One location
