Position : Internal Communications Manager
Job Description : Would you jump at the chance to manage a variety of College-wide internal communications strategies, channels and vehicles, to enhance outreach and connection with internal colleagues? If so, consider joining Institutional Advancement as the Internal Communications Manager, working with a variety of College leaders and reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Community Engagement. This position enables you to promote internal events and happenings at the College; coordinate and streamline the flow of institutional communication; and produce an internal, employee-focused newsletter. Through this work, you will play a key role in strengthening college communications, which is one of the top initiatives in PCC’s strategic plan.

Newsletter/Blog/Employee communications management experience: Able to provide examples of publications managed and published; including details on audience types and evaluation metrics to measure the publication’s success
Use of internal communications channels and modalities: Demonstrates ability to leverage different channels for maximum awareness, and to manage their use in partnership with other internal communicators (enhancing communications coordination); including communication channel audits
Communications protocols experience: Demonstrates experience creating protocols and systems for those who have access to and/or management of internal communications channels; including policies and procedures communication, training and timing of communications
Internal communications campaigns experience: Experience creating and leading internal communications campaigns; including strategy, timeline, internal partners, and results
Organization-wide, strategic communications plan experience: Demonstrated experience as part of a larger, broader organization-wide strategic communications plan; including collaboration, measurement of success, stakeholder management, and target audiences
Crisis communications skill and experience: Demonstrated success managing internal organizational crisis communications as part of a crisis communications team
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, Education, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or related area (NOTE: Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.)
Five (5) years of progressively responsible, professional experience in strategic internal communications;
Including two years (2) of lead or supervisory experience (NOTE: Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.)
Position Grade J
Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $65,713 to range midpoint of $80,496. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work environment includes frequent disruptions and changes in priorities. Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. Frequent travel to other locations is required. Must have a valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Oregon and possess an acceptable driving record. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
