Position : Conservation Educator
Job Description : Get in on the action! The Creature Conservancy is hiring! We are a small 501(c)(3) non profit organization committed to our mission of “Conservation through Education”. Our animal ambassadors include rescued/surrendered exotic animals, injured non-releasable wildlife, and some captive born residents. We are currently looking for a Conservation Educator. This position involves exceptional public speaking, time management, and problem solving skills as well as animal handling experience.Responsibilities include:Interacting with the public during our open hours as well as leading private tours.Giving informative presentations to increase awareness and understanding of our animals and the need for conservation to protect all animals.Helping with other programming such as Summer Camp, Field Trips, Virtual and Onsite Educational programs, and potentially Off Site programs.Helping with animal husbandry, such as deep cleaning enclosures, preparing animal diets, and daily enclosure cleaning.And other duties as assigned.An ideal candidate:Must be at least 21 years of age.Has had experience working with children or young adults.Has knowledge of animals, wildlife conservation, biology, or other natural sciences.Has had experience working in the animal conservation field.Has experience in public speaking.Is willing to go through a background check.Vaccinated against COVID19.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hourBenefits:Health insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftHolidaysWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:All staff members must be vaccinated against COVID19Experience:Nature Conservation: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
