Position : Materials/Purchasing Manager
Job Description : SUMMARYDirects and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies in organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.· Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.· Reviews, monitors and negotiates cost on material required to produce product.· Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.· Coordinates with engineering on new products and/or services including part substitutions.· Manages fabrication and machining outsourcing.· Prepares for and manages annual physical inventory, monitors daily inventory control functions.· Conduct monthly review of completed manufactured inventory items, part min/max quantities and adjust accordingly.· Evaluate and select subcontractors and suppliers to meet production needs.· Reviews Purchasing suggestions and dashboards for material required dates that are not compatible with scheduled ship dates committed to Granco Clark’s customers.· Coordinates logistics on purchased products.· Review opportunities and implement cost savings reductions.· Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESManages and directs the activities of employees assigned to his/her area(s) of responsibility.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
