Position : Patient Services Screener
Job Description : General Summary of Duties:
The role of the Patient Service Representative/Screener will handle confidential and sensitive information in a timely manner, to communicate effectively and clearly on the telephone, handle a call center environment ? work quickly and multitask, exercises good judgement to handle calls appropriately, provide good customer service with first call resolution and to professionally transcribe accurately and relay detailed messages. This position also acts as the front-line person screening patients entering the facility for COVID-19. This role exhibits respect, kindness, compassion, and professionalism to patients, family, and visitors. Must demonstrate excellent customer service to a diverse population.
Supervision Received:
Works under the direct supervision of the Non-Clinical Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsiblities:
All of the following functions, qualification, knowledges, skills abilities (KSA?S) and duties are essential. An employee in this class, upon appointment, should have the equivalent of the following:
Handle all incoming calls for MidMichigan Community Health Services 3 facilities (Houghton Lake, Roscommon, and Beaverton)
Scheduling and rescheduling appointments for approximately 14 providers
Answer and resolve patient question without having to transfer to a different department
Transcribe messages from patients and or other medical offices appropriately
Handling incoming/outgoing faxes
Ask a series of questions, perform temperature checks
Assist all patients/visitors
Provide the best patient care at all times
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Greeting Patients/visitors with a friendly smile/welcoming voice as they enter/exit the facility
Multitask and problem-solving skills
Deal with any issues that may arise/handling situations as the first point of contact
Knowledge of the facility and different services that are offered
Assist patients (when needed) with wheelchairs
